Abstract:
Starting with the k•p kinetic Hamiltonian including the spin-orbit interaction in the 4-band zone-center Bloch basis one obtains the 8-band Hamiltonian. The cubic symmetry of the Td group is transformed in the full rotational O(3) symmetry if the modified Luttinger parameters γ2 and γ3 are equal. The algebra of these transformations is discussed.
