Abstract: The use of biogenic metallic nanoparticles as building blocks to design multifunctional nanomaterials opens new perspectives for cancer therapy and imaging. The incorporation of biogenerated nanometals in biomimetic platforms such as liposomes could improve their application as theranostic nanohybrid systems that allow simultaneous cancer diagnosis and treatment.
