Abstract:
The goal of this talk is to present some new homogenization results, obtained via the periodic unfolding method [1], for the Stokes-Poisson-Nernst-Planck system, describing ionic transfer phenomena, coupled with electrocapillary effects, in periodic charged porous media. Our mathematical model can be useful for analyzing the ion transport through protein channels and represents a generalization of the models proposed in [2] and [3].
