Abstract: This paper describes a didactic tool made with the help of Excel spreadsheets for the experimental study of Ohm's law in alternating current to RLC series circuit. It shows how the regression analysis can be performed in the spreadsheet to verify the linear dependence, in effective values, of the current to the voltage applied at the circuit terminals. It also shows how experimental data can be processed to determine the RLC series circuit impedance and the current-voltage phase angle. The results obtained are presented both in the form of data tables and graphs through the current-voltage chart in effective values. With the help of the spreadsheet facilities, the circuit impedance is determined in three different ways. Thus, the impedance is calculated from the arithmetic mean of the voltage-current measurements, from the slope of the current-voltage line drawn from the regression analysis and directly using the values of the input data for frequency, resistance, inductance and capacitance. The paper also describes the annex experiment to determine the coil inductance and how the data in this experiment can be processed in a separate Excel file. The classroom use of the tool presented in this paper makes it easy to process experimental data to verify Ohm's law in alternating current to the RLC series circuit. Students can practice their skills in Excel for both the regression analysis and error calculation.
