Abstract: Within the current economic and social context where natural resources used to obtain electricity are limited and costly, the identification and development of alternative variants for obtaining electricity becomes a priority.
Solar energy is one of the renewable energy sources, clean, inexhaustible, environmentally friendly and the use of this type of energy to obtain domestic hot water is a viable solution.
The present paper represents a study of solar energy conversion using a solar panel system to obtaining domestic hot water. In this work, it has been used a system consisting of 2 solar panels fitted with 20 vacuum tubes HEAT PIPE of 1800 mm x 58 mm, with efficiency of 82-85%, a controller fitted with a pumping group and a multi-functional boiler with a volume of 300 l thermal agent. The boiler works on the Ruffer principle, using three independent sources of heat (solar energy, solid fuel burning in the boiler furnace, thermal power plant-with connection to the boiler) and the domestic hot water is prepared on the instant fresh water principle.
Solar panels were placed on the roof of a house, in the area of Izvoare village, Neamţ County. The monitoring of the system was carried out for 3 months. During winter, we obtained for domestic water a temperature of 160-190 Celsius degrees and for 3 months during spring we obtained a temperature of 200-300 Celsius degrees. The domestic hot water was used in the household but also as a support for heating the dwelling, ensuring a temperature between 160-300 Celsius degrees in the boiler of the heating plant.
