Abstract:
In the last decades, a considerable interest was paid to eco-friendly strategies to obtain metallic nanoparticles. In this study, silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) were synthesized from Citrus wastes. The phytosynthesized AgNPs showed high antioxidant and antimicrobial potential. A natural bioporphyrin – chlorophyll a – was inserted in biomimetic membranes, as optical sensor to study the effects of biogenic silver nanoparticles on artificial lipid bilayers. The results could be exploited to design novel biohybrids with potential biomedical applications.
