Abstract:
An interesting and widely spread method of obtaining new polymeric thin films is the plasma polymerization technique (by means of a DC plasma reactor). The resulting systems are geometrically and morphologically controllable. Herein we investigate how repetitive thermal treatments alter the surface and bulk physical properties of these polymer films. The samples were cured by several heating cycles followed by free or forced cooling stages. We remark significant changes for the surface properties, while the bulk ones show only limited dissimilarities.
