Abstract:
There are over 790,000 asteroids and comets discovered until now, and many more objects are discovered weekly. Even though the size distribution of asteroids follows a power-law, we have little to no information about the small asteroids (<50m) and meteoroids population. To bridge the gaps between asteroids, meteoroids and meteorites, several fireball networks have been deployed. Along with meteor trajectory analysis, calibrated allsky photometry is useful to measure the energy released as light during meteoroid deceleration. We present a case study of two of MOROI (Meteorites Orbits Reconstruction by Optical Imaging) stations, Feleac and Berthelot, over the period of one year. The results bring forth some limitations and also future applications for meteor studies and site astroclimatic characterization.
