Abstract:
Tamm-Dancoff and Random Phase Approximation models have had a good record in describing collective excitations in nuclear systems. As such they can serve as a basis for several extensions that improve upon it and more accurately describe the system. Such an extension is represented by a density-dependent particle-hole interaction. A previous generalized model uncovered both physical collective states associated with the dipole excitation of the system: Giant Dipole Resonance (GDR) and Pygmy Dipole Resonance (PDR). Here we extend our approach considering three interacting sub-systems. We observe that the system tends to fallback towards the same two collective modes: GDR and PDR while all other states prove to be of a noncollective nature. Accuracy and consistency have been greatly improved up to the point of nearly matching the most recent experimental results.
