Abstract:
We present phase curves for 8 NEAs, 7 objects of taxonomic type S and one of K type. The objects were observed during 2017-2018 from The Astronomical Institute of the Romanian Academy. We have pre-opposition data for (85989) 1999 JD6, (155140) 2005 UD and (418849) 2008 WM64, and post-opposition data for (333888) 1998 ST4, (276033) 2002 AJ129, and 2012 TC4. In all the cases except 1999 JD6 we find a good match of our data with the modelled phase curve. All the data points for 1999 JD6 are for phase angles larger than 46◦, values for which the HG model is not very accurate. We find two close data points that do not match, a clear sign of different observing conditions. We also find a mismatch of close data points in the case of 2012 TC4 a fast moving asteroid with a variable rotational period and amplitude of brightness variation.
