Abstract:
Since the Hess period (1912) and after, to the present, cosmic radiation studies are object and tool for space research. It is thus possible to evaluate the cosmic radiation dose levels of the cosmic ray particles in the Earth's atmosphere. This study briefly reviews the particle composition of the cosmic radiation and the cosmic ray particle energies at aircraft altitudes, to account for understanding of the dynamics of the radiation environment in the Earth's atmosphere. To calculate what is the activity of cosmic radiation at the region studied, the structure of cosmic radiation and its variation with altitudes and geomagnetic latitudes have been explored. Conclusion is that the exposure at aircraft altitudes is above 100 times greater than at the sea level.
