Abstract: We use the imaginary time evolution method in order to solve the energy eigenvalue problem of a Henon-Heiles type system. Our approach allows us to calculate the complex energies of the metastable states of the system. We compare our results with those obtained using a semiclassical approach. We also calculate the bound state energies in the framework of the perturbation theory, treating the cubic term as a perturbation.
