Abstract: Raspberry Pi is a small but powerfull single-board computer. It can do all the things you’d expect from a computer, but it also has a GPIO (general-purpose input/output) header that can be used to connect various sensors and other devices. This is a very useful feature for physics experiments. It is used in the space industry and other fields, but can also be used in the school laboratory.
In our experiments we used Raspberry Pi to study gravity. In most space projects, the Raspberry Pi was used together with a device called “Sense HAT”. In the first experiment we have used the same device to measure the components of the gravitational force on the inclined plane. In the second experiment we have used Raspberry Pi, a pendulum and a digital Hall sensor to determine gravitational acceleration. In both experiments the results can be displayed on a smart board and the whole class can see them.
