Abstract: This paper on the horizontal axis wind turbine is a study of a current issue in the field of energy and especially renewable energy. Wind energy is a green and sustainable source of energy to meet the needs and requirements of the current generation without affecting future generations in any way.
A deep analysis of wind energy was made from several perspectives in terms of need, potential, technological capacity and resources.
In the laboratory study we tested horizontal axis wind turbines with different types of blades, in order to determine the factors that influence the output power of a wind turbine, such as the number of blades, the angle of inclination of the blades, the multiplication system. The results showed the optimal configurations for reaching the maximum power depending on the wind speed, through the electric power coefficient that we determined for each configuration.
The study shows the importance of these factors in determining the construction parameters of a turbine depending on the location where it should be located to extract maximum power from the wind.
