Abstract:
The radiative capture reaction plays a key role in the nucleosynthesis process. The applications of nuclear astrophysics involve thousands of unstable nuclei for which no experimental data are available, therefore theoretical predictions of the reaction data are needed. The present study intents to establish if and at what extent the reaction models with empirical parameters implemented in the evaluation codes could be used for the estimation of the reaction cross sections of the nuclei away from the stability valley at energies above the resonance region. For this purpose, the EMPIRE code was used to provide an overall description for the cross sections of the neutron induced reactions on the isotopic chain of Molybdenum ranging in atomic mass from 83 to 115, in the incident energy range 0.01-20 MeV. The results of the calculations for the stable isotopes are compared with the TALYS code predictions from TENDL, with evaluations from major libraries and with the existing experimental data. The behavior of the input parameters and of the calculated cross sections from dripline to dripline is analyzed and discussed.
