Abstract:
The MeV-scale neutrino detection has currently been improved by the recent efforts in developing new detection technologies, leading to an increased sensitivity to low-energy neutrinos. This opens numerous possibilities for future measurements, especially for solar neutrinos that have energies below 20 MeV and reach the Earth with a very low flux. The goal of this work is to observe the performance of such a detection systems. The main challenges consist in the low interaction probability and in the characterization of the expected neutrino fluxes at Earth’s surface due to neutrino oscillations. In this work we present preliminary simulation results of neutrino interactions in the new generation of liquid argon detectors and the main final-state particles resulting from Charged-Current (CC) interactions. The possibility of distinguishing solar neutrinos from other natural sources is discussed.
