Abstract: This work presents the main functional procedures carried out in the nuclear medicine laboratory, with a focus on bone, thyroid, and renal scintigraphy. Each investigation uses specific radiopharmaceuticals (such as 99mTc-HDP, 99mTc-pertechnetate, or 99mTc-DTPA) and standardized protocols to assess metabolic or functional activity. Bone scintigraphy detects active skeletal lesions and is frequently used in oncology [1]. The case study showed a favorable treatment response by comparing two scans performed six months apart. Thyroid scintigraphy evaluates gland function and identifies “hot” or “cold” nodules [2]. Renal scintigraphy analyzes perfusion, filtration, and urinary excretion, being useful in diagnosing obstructions or chronic kidney failure [3, 4]. These investigations provide valuable information that supports diagnosis and monitoring of the patient’s clinical evolution.
