Abstract:
In the present research, we have considered to study the mechanical energy in two experiments, the movement of a body in the gravitational field and, respectively, in the simple harmonic motion. For this study, we have used the Einstein tablet with two sensors, the force sensor and, respectively, the distance sensor. The data analysis after these experiments were processed with both MiLAB and SciDavis software. In addition to plots of velocity, acceleration and force versus time, plots of kinetic energy and potential energy versus time were made. The plots obtained from the experimental data verify the law of conservation of mechanical energy in free fall of a body as well as the theoretical model of the harmonic oscillator. In this study, we aimed to show how easily experiments can be conducted using digital equipment and, in particular, how effortlessly the data obtained can be processed using the MiLAB software on the Einstein tablet as well as other data-processing programs.
