Abstract: In this paper we shall investigate the matter - geometry interplay, considering an interesting model which is based on the direct coupling between the Einstein tensor and the Energy-Momentum tensor. After obtaining the corresponding field equations, we deduce the associated scalar tensor representation, attaining the expressions for various thermodynamic relations.
