Abstract:
Coverage of surfaces with polymeric materials lead to changes in their physical properties. By controlled deposition in plasma polymerization processes in different types of reactors (DC, RF) or geometry of deposition (Glad) we may obtain nanometric and micrometric surfaces with periodic structure, which actually controls the properties of the surfaces. All these new properties arising from confining a small number of macromolecules, which, looked like repeating structural entities, behaves differently from the bulk structure. Given that synergistic effects can be controlled, macroscopic properties can be easily estimated and obtained.
