Abstract:
Sulphate compounds of pure and mixed alkaline, MMSO4, have been intensively investigated by several methods due to their potential use in electro-chemical devices. Some of them present a super-ionic conductivity in their high temperature phase. EPR, besides other spectroscopic techniques, has been used to study this class of compounds [1-6]. The mixed (Li1-xKx)2SO4 compounds are interesting because they present an complicated sequence of phase transitions, whose nature is still under controversy [4-6]. We have studied the free radicals induced by electron and g-ray irradiation in a series of such powdered compounds ( x = 0.01 to 0.99). The identification of radical nature and their irradiation yield were carried out. The data are compared with the existing literature. Powder EPR spectra simulation programmes are used. [1] P.W.
