Abstract:
The present work presents an evaluation of the quality of water from the public distribution system, using fluorescence spectroscopy. The changes which appeared after water storage in different conditions were analyzed. The fluorescence data have showen a high microbial contamination of water samples after the first storage days and suggested that fluorescence spectroscopy can be used as preliminary tool in the assessment of drinking water quality.
