Abstract:
Within a microscopic transport model based on Landau theory of Fermi liquids we discuss the excitation of the collective modes on top of nonequilibrium states along the fusion path of heavy nuclei. We follow the system evolution at beam energies between 10 AMeV and 20 AMeV. The transport simulations include the mean-field as well as the nucleon-nucleon two-body collisions effects and allow us to investigate in a selfconsistent manner the fusion dynamics and the onset of the collective response, the photon emission rate and angular distribution. Eventually we discuss the possibility that this process can represent a cooling mechanism in the synthesis of heavy elements and the idea to extend this investigation to the study the pygmy dipole resonance.
