Abstract:
The phonon dispersion curves for the solid solutions CuxAu1-x have been computed solving the effective dynamic matrix constructed from the effective parameters which are obtained from Vegard’s law as Aalloy=xACu+(1-x)AAu, where the parameters A are a complet set of the five force constants and the mass of the oscillator. The frequency distribution function is computed and following the usual procedure the specific heat and the Debye characteristic temperature are obtained for various temperatures from 10 to 300 K and concentrations from 0 to 1, in step of 0.25.
