Abstract:
The microstructure of a material and its physical properties are strongly correlated. Phase diagrams provide this structural information of alloys under specified conditions of temperature, pressure and composition, hereby forming an indispensable tool in the materials design process. The shape memory alloys are a unique class of materials with the ability to recover their shape under specific conditions.
