 Abstract:
The plasma state covers several magnitude order in energy range, more than the other phases of the matter. In length scales it extends from nanometers to kiloparsecs. On Earth, plasmas occur naturally only in lightning and the aurora. The sun is made of plasma and, so, are most stars. Therefore, the plasma state dominates the visible Universe. The practical terrestrial applications, the so called man–made plasmas, are, also, extensive. These “classical” plasmas can be discussed in association with the new form of the high excited and dense nuclear matter, the quark–gluon plasma. In this work we present the continuation of our previous attempts to find analogies between this two kind of plasmas. Here, our efforts in the knoledge of the mechanisms of ignition and the mechanisms of breakdown in energy viewpoint are analysed. The principles of plasma diagnostics are, also, presented.
