Abstract:
The emission properties under various wavelength pumping conditions from quasi-waveguides based in PM597-doped organic gain media incorporating TiO2 nanoparticles has been studied. Dye doped thin PVA films with thickness between 10 and 100 microns have been prepared and demonstrated to exhibit Amplified Spontaneous Emission (ASE) and even Multimode Laser Emission (above a given energy threshold value). The spectral narrowing and amplification has been associated to a mechanism of Non-Resonant Feedback. The photon path extension caused by multiple scattering inside the TiO2 polymer film provides an intensity feedback which is responsible for the high amplification and narrow banded lasing emission (1-2nm).
