Abstract:
Calibration of the ionization chambers in radiation field different from Co-60 should be carefully carried out because of influence of the beam quality on conventional true value of the absorbed dose to water quantity. In this report is presented the influence of the radiation beam quality on the conventional true value of the absorbed dose to water in high energy photon beams delivered by the Elekta Precise linear accelerator. The measurements have been performed for photon beams qualities of the TPR20,10 of 0.69, 0.75 and 0.77 according to IAEA TRS 398 protocol. The absorbed dose to water has been measured using the cylindrical chambers types PTW TN31010 and FC65-G. Performance of each reference ionization chambers are assessed through En numbers that are in good agreement with ISO 13528 requirements.
