Abstract:
The Standard Model of particle physics unifies the weak and electromagnetic forces into one gauge group, SU(2)L × U(1)Y and provides a remarkably accurate description of a wide range of phenomena. Experimentally, the data measured at LEP, SLD, Tevatron and now LHC exhibit the accurate test of the electroweak part of the SM.The weak mixing angle is one of the key parameters in this theory. The data on this quantity obtained in different types of determinations (νe, νq, Moller and qq scatterings) are compared and analysed. The possibility to measure the weak mixing angle in neutrino – electron/ nucleon/nucleus scattering, in experiments at low energy, was studied.
