Abstract:
In the frame of dielectric continuum model, electron-optical phonon interaction terms are calculated for a cylindrical quantum wire made of a uniaxial semiconductor. We analyze the geometry where the optical axis is directed along the cylinder axis; an analytic closed form is obtained for electron-optical phonon interaction terms and the matrix elements associated to electronic transitions due to absorption or emission of phonons are calculated. Based on these, the collision integral is determined and the transport coefficients are evaluated by solving self consistently the Boltzmann`s equation. The effect of temperature and of the geometric factors (cylinder radius) is discussed.
