Abstract:
By analyzing the quantum problem of a particle placed in a radial rectangular potential, one can establish that the solutions given by a null angular momentum are similar to those of the even states of the quantum problem of the same particle found in an unidimensional rectangular potential. The energy equations for the initial tridimendional problem can be determined from the approximate or exact analytical equations for the unidimensional case. The results are relevant for quantum dots physics, with applications in photovoltaic conversion.
