Abstract: Within the framework of linear response theory we derive temperature dependent expressions for the paramagnetic current-current correlation function of a two-dimensional electron gas.We study the wave-vector and frequency dependent behavior of this correlation function in the low temperature regime. This allows us to gain insight into how the electrical conductivity behaves in the zero temperature limit.
